	September 17, 2024 -- News About Stony Brook's Babies and Children's Memorial Garden New benches were placed in the garden in August to replace the original benches, some in place for over 20 years, that had faded and cracked. Carol Gomes, hospital CEO, arranged for funding for these benches. Michael Cullen, Assistant VP of Facilities and Support Services, arranged for the installation. This October marks the 25th anniversary of the garden's dedication in 1999.


	September 12, 2024 -- The Little Angel Fund will be featured in the Hometown Heroes section of the Sunday, September 29th issue of Newsday. Photos like these will accompany the article. Thanks to Carmen DiBartolomeo for nominating us for this special honor!


	LITTLE ANGEL FUND'S 40th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION We've added huge Photo Gallery from the Little Angel Fund's 40th Anniversary Picnic! Click here to view the Gallery! The Little Angel Fund, a support group for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Stony Brook Hospital, celebrated FORTY YEARS of service. The organization was started in March of 1984 by Jenny and Joseph Tranfaglia in memory of their daughter Amanda Rose Tranfaglia. Forty years of dedication and devotion. We would not have been able to be successful or accomplished so much without the help and support of our Board, our volunteers and our family. Over these past years the fund has tried to achieve its goals, expand programs and maintain services. Our purpose has been to make life a little easier and more comfortable for the premature and seriously ill infants and their families while they are in the NICU, after they graduated and to act as a source of help and support for the bereaved. On Sunday, August 11, 2024 over 100 gathered including families, nurses and friends and NICU grads at Percy Raynor Park to celebrate this milestone. There were games, a face painter, a visit from the character Marshall from Paw Patrol and crafts. All enjoyed food, snacks, refreshments and ice cream. It was a joyous occasion filled with fun, laughter, and a few tears. Many retired staff attended to see the NICU grads and how they have progressed over these many years. This day was made possible due to the support of many volunteers and from financial donations. The day was organized by Jenny and Joseph Tranfaglia who are the founders and Chairperson of the Little Angel Fund. 	June 7, 2024 -- The Little Angel Fund was established in memory of Amanda Rose Tranfaglia in March 1984. With the help and support of our dedicated volunteers, we have done our best to fulfill our goals, maintain our services and expand our programs. This year we celebrate a milestone of 40 years of service. To commemorate this joyous occasion we are having a gathering on August 11, 2024, in Percy Raynor Park on Route 347 in Centereach, NY. 	January 31, 2024 -- Thank you to Terry Biaggi for making 40 beautiful quilts for the babies in the NICU at Stony Brook Hospital. They were given out in January. The parents and staff appreciate your time and talents.


	January 31, 2024 -- We want to take this opportunity to thank the following special groups and individuals for volunteering their time and talents to making hats and blankets for the babies in the NICU at Stony Brook Hospital: Terryville Homemakers: Dottie, Marge, Joann and Colleen Bonnie Connelly and friends Barbara Bremer and friends Barbara Nintzel and friends Lori Maeder We also want to thank Grace Laurentino, Thomas Holland, Justin Milone, and Sophia Schmitz for volunteering their time to assemble the toys, put hats in bags with our information and other various projects. And, finally, special thanks to Staci Landi, NICU nurse and board member, for picking up hats , blankets and toys for several months and distributing to the babies at the NICU.


	January 31, 2024 -- We were in need of holiday hats and blankets for the babied in the NICU at Stony Brook Hospital. Marie Martin, a long time benefactor and volunteer for the Little Angel Fund, asked her knitting group if they could make help us out and we are so thankful that they agreed! Marie delivered them to us. We want to express our appreciation to the members of the Town of Smithtown Senior Citizens.


	October 17, 2023 -- Thank you to George as Elyse Sheehan for making the NICU visit last month to deliver hats, blankets, and toys to the babies. Looking forward to more volunteers being able join the Monthly Visit Volunteer Committee.


	October 16, 2023 -- Our good friends and benefactors from Island Budokan with Sensei Dan Hayes held a Dojo National Clinic. They raised and donated $190. We thank Dan Hayes, parents and students for their continued help and support. On November 18 they will hold a bigger main event to raise donations for the Little Angel Fund. 	October 15, 2023 -- Thank you to the Town of Smithtown Senior Citizens Dept for sharing their time and talents by making lovely hats and blankets for the babies in the NICU at Stony Brook Hospital. Special note of thanks to Marie Martin for delivering them to us.


	September 11, 2023 -- You are cordially invited to attend Invitational Island Budokan Youth Charity SKWH Clinic and Competition at ISLAND BUODKAN DOJO on Saturday, September 16, where we hope to raise awareness and support for the Little Angel Fund. ISLAND BUODKAN DOJO 196 N. BELLE MEAD RD., NY 11733 Saturday, - SEPT. 16, 2023 We will have drop boxes available for all to donate to LAF at each site. Cash and checks are accepted. All donations will be given directly to the Little Angel Fund.


	April 30, 2023 -- Sachem High School East collects baskets for babies -- Thank you to the staff, students and parents for collecting all these wonderful items and donating them to the Little Angel Fund. A special thank you to Jamie Donaroma and Meredith Babst for organizing this event. Carmen DiBartolomeo, coordinator of the Welcome Bag Program, will assemble the bags and deliver them to Stony Brook Hospital for the babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. We appreciate their help and support. Thank you for making a difference in the lives of others!


	April 30, 2023 -- A special note of thanks to Linda Rocco, who purchased and donated the toys for the babies in the NICU at Stony Brook Hospital for the months of July, August and September. Linda sent us a check to cover the cost for the toys for April,May and June. During this difficult financial time we are so very grateful to Linda for all her help and support.


	February 25, 2023 -- We'd like to express our deepest appreciation to the following for sharing your time and talents. Thank you for helping to make a difference in the lives of others. Lynne Schoepher for making and donating dozens of amazing handmade wreaths. Some we donated to the NICU at Stony Brook Hospital to brighten up the unit. Others we have sold to help finance our projects. Terry Biaggi for making and donation 40 beautiful quilts for the babies in the NICU at Stony Brook Children's Hospital. Lori Maeder for crocheting 40 plus lovely blankets for the babies at Stony Brook Hospital. Lori has been doing this in memory of a dear friend and her son for many, many years. To our anonymous donor for monthly monetary donations. To all those who have donated to various Go Fund Me events. To all who donate to Net Work For Go for our organization. Over the many years many have donated to the Little Angel Fund as they purchased from Amazon Smile. This has been a wonderful program and we have benefited greatly. Unfortunately, Amazon has discontinued this program. Dan Hayes from Island Budokan for sponsoring and organizing events, competitions and fund raisers in order to donate to the Little Angel Fund. We commend these students and their families for their community involvement. We especially thank Dan for choosing our organization. They have been involved for many years and we look forward to our continued friendship.


	October 10, 2022 -- Please join the Island Budokan Karate and the rest of the OFC Health and Fitness Alliance in supporting The Little Angel Fund in honor of their Fall Open House by donating to this GoFundMe fundraiser. No donation is too small!


	August 27, 2022 -- Thank you to the volunteers at the Manhasset Public Library Teen Program for assembling welcome packages in August 2022. They were delivered to Stony Brook Hospital and received by social worker Maria Montelione.


	August 27, 2022 -- We partnered again with the Junior League of Long Island in May 2022, they generously donated gift bags for families in NICU, we are so grateful for their support and choosing to work with us.


	August 27, 2022 -- Thank you to the Creative Knitters of Leisure Village who donated hand made blankets, hats and booties for babies in May 2022. These items were added to welcome bags and gift bags for families in the NICU.


	August 27, 2022 -- Heartfelt thanks to the teachers, students, parents, and staff of Sachem High School East for participating in the Baskets for Babies. They collected bags and bags of great items for our Welcome Bags. These bags are given to the babies in the NICU at Stony Brook Hospital upon admission. Sachem East has held this event for many years. We are grateful to the supervisors Jamie Donaroma and Meredith Babst for believing in our goals and services and organizing this event each year.


	August 27, 2022 -- Thank you to Camie Barz, PWW Program and Community Coordinator, her staff and the talented ladies at Suffolk AHRC who have made hats for the babies for several months. We appreciate your time and talents.


	August 27, 2022 -- The Junior League of Long Island once again donated 75 bags with full size much needed items for the parents in the NICU at Stony Brook Hospital. Carmen DiBartolomeo met them in Roslyn to assemble the bags. Thank you for making a difference in the lives of others. This was a huge donation!


	August 27, 2022 -- Thank you to Lynn Schoepfer, a NICU mom, for making and donating 12 handmade beautiful wreaths. We hope to use them for a raffle. Keep checking for updates.


	January 22, 2022 -- Thank you to the 7-12 grade students at the Stony Brook School. They made 43 of these beautiful flannel blankets and donated them to the Little Angel Fund for premature babies in the NICU at Stony Brook Hospital. Thank you for sharing your time and talents. A special note of thanks to Caprielle D'Ulisse for organizing this project and delivering them to us.


	January 22, 2022 -- We want to express our appreciation to the employees of Visiontron for donating baby socks, mittens and several other items that went into our Welcome Bags. These bags are given to babies admitted to the NICU at Stony Brook Hospital. Thank you to Sabrina for organizing this donation. One of their employees, Jessi Collins and her husband lost a child and in memory put together several gift bags. These were given to the families in NICU at Stony Brook Hospital. Thank you for helping to make a difference in the lives of others.


	May 13, 2020 -- Thank you Junior League of Long Island! On March 7, volunteers created Welcome Packages for the NICU. Thanks so much to this great group of ladies for donating their time and generosity. Special thank you to Ashley Cohen for collaborating with us on this project. Also note a special Thank You to the tween/teen volunteers at the Merrick Public Library, who volunteered to assemble welcome packages for the NICU on March 12! Delivery of the packages was delayed due to COVID-19 related restrictions on donations and visitors to Stony Brook Children's Hospital. We were finally able to make our delivery on May 13! The NICU staff came outside to pick up the donation. We thank the nurses and staff in the NICU for being our heroes and delivering the packages to families in the NICU during these difficult times.


	March 5, 2020 -- Port Jefferson Moose Lodge 1379 will be hosting their 10th Annual Golf Outing on June 19, will benefit the Little Angel Fund and the Stony Brok NICU!
